About this project

IMG_2146 2.jpg

Hello, my name is Rachel, I am the creator of the C.O.P.E project. I am currently studying illustration for my MA. For the past few years, I've had a huge drive to create work that aims to make a difference or an impact of sorts I suppose. So when it came to my MA I wanted to continue to create a concept that had a purpose and meaning behind it.

My focus is the environment and more specifically the current issues that our planet is enduring due to our activities, causing serious implications for the future. Within my MA I am investigating 'How do I utilise my illustration practice as a tool to inform and educate an audience on the topic of environmentalism, championing the preservation of the natural environment.'

This project aims to educate, raise awareness and bring people together that share the same passion to make a difference. Within the shop, you shall see a variety of items that I have designed and sourced from sustainable companies or handmade myself.

I shall be donating 90% of the profits from these items to the Born Free Foundation where their mission is to:

'... work tirelessly to ensure that all wild animals, whether living in captivity or in the wild, are treated with compassion and respect and are able to live their lives according to their needs. We seek to have a positive impact on animals in the wild and protect their ecosystems in perpetuity, for their own intrinsic value and for the critical roles they play within the natural world.'

~ Born Free Foundation

A further £1 from every order will be donated to Team Trees which results in one tree being planted, yay we all love trees! So the more orders there are, the bigger the impact.

I have also created a page dedicated to some amazing charities, you can head over there to find out more, what they do and how you can support their amazing work.
